The Art of Being HumanJANET NASH · WRITER & ARTIST
Travel

Places I’m still
thinking about.

Photographs, stories, and what comes home with me after the suitcase is unpacked.

I love to travel. Recently, I went to Iceland with my sister and niece. It was breathtaking and stark—geysers, fjords, volcanic landscapes, enormous stretches of ice, and more sheep than people.

Janet’s photograph of winding waterways, low islands, and distant hills in Iceland.
Iceland, through my camera.
From Iceland

A little perspective.

I was struck by the people we met and their way of looking at life. I suspect living on an island that can rearrange itself without consulting you gives a person some perspective.

I came home with photographs, stories, and things I’m still thinking about. I’ll share those here, along with other places I’ve been and wherever I go next.

A broad waterfall pouring over dark rock in Iceland.
Water, rock, and a sense of scale.
White buildings beside a river amid an expansive Icelandic landscape, with distant mountains.
Room to look a little longer.
Closer to home

The Trail I Have Never Found Again

A Hocking Hills walk, a mysterious staircase, and the wrong parking lot. A story about a place I still love—and a route I have yet to retrace.
